This blog probably actually started in September of 2006. Up until then our lives were relatively boring. Ken went to work, I stayed home with young kids and homeschooled them and then we did the unthinkable...we jumped into a huge ministry project at church that put us in the line of fire for our ideas and left our pastors in the line of fire to support us.
That's a little rattling, but it's not so unthinkable. What's unthinkable is that during that project we were praying for the project, our church, our church leadership and ourselves and we knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that we were under attack and I felt emboldened and told satan to "Bring It On", that we could weather the storms and handle whatever he sent our way.
There is a tiny momement after words leave your mouth that your brain flickers with, "What have I done?". And then it's done and life goes on, but perhaps forever changed.
We no longer reside where life is comfortable and one day drifts into the next. We live on the edge where each day we depend on God for our daily needs. It's a fine edge in many ways...it is some days so thin and fine that one more thing would send us careening off. We have been sent careening off on a few occaisions and friends and prayer have saved us from hitting the bottom hard.
It is also a fine edge because after a few years I am learning to appreciate living here. It's a fine place to be...learning to trust God, seeing amazing things happen in our lives, having the opportunity to really live and learn from life, not just go through the motions or read about it in a textbook.
So here we are on our edge...it might look like yours, it might look much wider than yours, or much thinner. Either way, I hope you'll enjoy living here with me from time to time.
